Course: On both days, Cecília will teach La Bacchante, a couple dance created by Guillaume-Louis Pecour, dancing master at the Paris Opéra and notated by Raoul Auger Feuillet. The music is by La Coste, from his opera Philomèle. The dance was published in 1706.
Cecília Gracia Mouro has performed with several leading early dance companies in France, and is currently a teacher of French Renaissance and Baroque dance at the Conservatory of Paris. She taught a very successful course at the DHDS Summer school 2008.
She will introduce participants to the less familiar French style of baroque dance reconstruction, through challenging preparatory exercises for basic technique and detailed analysis of the notated dance. Participants must be prepared to work hard, but the course will be very rewarding. The course will be suitable for those with some previous experience of baroque dancing.
Price DHDS members £33/day, non Members £35/day
