Winterbal at Château d'Ursel

The stately home at Hingene was the ‘maison de plaisance’ of the aristocratic d’Ursel family for almost four centuries. Now, it belongs to the Province of Antwerp who has restored the castle to its former glory with passion.

On this festive evening, the grand hall of the castle will once again be transformed into an 18th-century ballroom, replete with flickering candles on the driveway, beautiful costumes, and elegant ladies and gentlemen.

Experienced dancers are welcome, but dancing masters Veerle Fack and Ingolf Collmar will also be there to guide the debutants’ first steps. The contredances will be performed live by the early-music ensemble, Ardalus.

To keep you dancing throughout the evening, refreshments will be provided.

Accommodation

Overnight accommodations can be made at the Laathof, a center for youth tourism within the castle precincts. These are basic accommodation, possibly with shared bathroom. The price for bed and breakfast is € 23,40. You must bring your own towels.

Das herrschaftliche Anwesen in Hingene war fast vierhundert Jahre das Lusthaus der adligen Familie d’Ursel. Jetzt gehört es der Provinz Antwerpen, die das Schloss restauriert hat, das jetzt wieder im prachtvollen und leidenschaftlichen Glanz erstrahlt.

An diesem festlichen Abend wird die Empfangshalle des Schlosses erneut in einen Ballraum des 18. Jh. verwandelt werden. Es wird vor Fackeln auf der Auffahrt, traumhaften Kostümen und eleganten Damen und Herren strotzen.

Erfahrene Tänzer sind herzlichst willkommen, aber Tanzmeistern Veerle Fack und Ingolf Collmar werden auch anwesend sein, um die Debuttanten in die ersten Schritte einzuführen. Der Contredanse wird live von dem Musikensemble Ardalus aufgeführt.

Erfrischungsgetränke sorgen dafür, dass Sie den ganzen Abend durchtanzen können.

Unterkunft

Übenachtungen können in Laathof gebucht werden, einer Jugendstätte in der Nähe des Schlosse. Die Unterbringung ist einfach, das Bad wird sich u. U. geteilt. Der Preis für Übernachtung mit Frühstück liegt bei € 23,40. Handtücher müssen selbst mitgebracht werden.
