The Grand Ball of the Risorgimento

The Grand Ball of the Risorgimento ideally represents a ball organized by the patriots to celebrate the successful Unification of Italy.
As in the rest of the country, Bologna citizens celebrated the victories of the Risorgimento movement and the ideals of freedom, justice and progress
with a series of Grand Balls inside theaters and private palaces.
The cultural association "Società di Danza", founded in Bologna in 1991 by Fabio Mòllica, is a Federation of Circoli and groups,
is now located in 28 Italian cities and 12 European cities.
For the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, since 2008 the cultural association "Società di Danza" has developed a national project
and organized Grand Balls of the Risorgimento in the major Italian cities. Bologna and was chosen to inaugurate the celebrations.
Several Circoli and groups of the Società di Danza participated in the Grand Ball Risorgimentale, from:
Turin, Milan, Bergamo, Stezzano (Bg), Lecco, Trento, Mantova, Padova, Ferrara, Modena,
Bologna, Imola, Forlì, Cesena, Ancona, Lucca, Pisa, Livorno, Rome, Pescara, Naples, Bari, Lecce,
and from the European cities Geneva, Moscow and Novosibirsk.
