Starts 7.15pm (doors open 7pm); dancing 7.30pm
Workshop 3-5pm
Presented by the Friends of Cecil Sharp House
To celebrate the refurbishment of his splendid and exotic pavilion at Brighton, the Prince Regent has invited the glitterati of Britain and Europe to a Grand Ball. Away from the stuffy conventions of their own courts the crowns, coronets and courtesans will let their hair down, but they may need to protect their reputation by disguising their true identity....the pavilion is not renowned for its respectability.
Diana Jewitt will lead the celebrations, accompanied by the beautiful music of Green Ginger.
Come in costume if you have one, but this is optional. Dances will be walked through and called and there is an afternoon workshop if you would like to get into the swing of dances of the period.
Tickets: Dance £12 (concs £11), includes a glass of bubbly; Supper (6pm) £8; Afternoon workshop £6
Tickets available on the door or from www.wegottickets.com. Supper must be booked in advance. More information: 020 8731 8083
