The Festival Opera Barocca is a unique project,
the only one which presents early music, dance and singing in the authentic style,
as they have been performed in the times of their origin.
The treasures of baroque music , the leading artists, the historical instruments, a beautiful scenography
an attractive illumination by candle lights and the historic environments of the magnificent prague
palaces , help to create a magical festival atmosphere.

The Institute of Baroque Culture in cooperation with organizers of Prague Carnevale present in a new production for Summer Season 2013 series of musical- dance images from famous ballets and operas XVII. and XVIII. century.
The Program of the summer festival Opera Barocca 2013:
Sotto le Stelle / Under the Starry Sky
Premiere performance in which music of great baroque masters Giovanni Battista Bononcini and his famous rival George Frideric Handel will sound. In a beautiful pastoral pasticcio "Sotto le Stelle" the great music from Bononcini's Rome serenata "la Nemica d'amore fatta Amante" and Handel's Cantata Tirsi, Clori e Fileno will sound.

Quand les Dieux Dansent / When the God's dance
Enjoy an evening of music and dance inspired by the festivities held at the Habsburg and French courts during the Baroque period. Enjoy works from famous operas and comedies by Lully and from the imperial court comes music by His Majesty Leopold I, The Holy Roman Emperor, Schmelzer, Cesti and Biber von Bibern.

Sonata Venatoria / The Hunting Sonáta
Music and dance performance inspired by the pictures on the theme of hunting. The charming symbolic meeting of shepherds and nymphs, led by the Goddess Diana.
In a programme which is dedicated to hunting and the late summer pleasures you will hear music by the Baroque masters T. Merula, P. J. Vejvanovský, H. I. F. Biber, A. Campra, A. Vivaldi, J. S. Bach and J.Mysliveček.

A wonderful hour concert will allow you to imagine the beauty and elegance of 17th and 18th century.
