Pavana (Spanish Pavan), Jácara and “zapateados” for the Canario

Ana Yepes teaches Spanish baroque dance according to the following sources :
Esquivel de Navarro, “Discursos sobre el Arte de Danzado”, Sevilla 1642 and
Juan Antonio Jaque “El Libro de danzar”, XVIIth century.
Her work on technique and interpretation, as well as the warm-up she proposes are also essential elements of her teaching.

These workshops, ardessed to the students of different levels, are an introduction to the Spanish baroque dance style, in which we will learn the steps and some variations of Pavana and Gallarda (Spanish Pavan and Gallarda), of Jácara and of “zapateados” for the Canario.
Fot those who already have some experience, the workshops are the continuation of the practice and opportunity to get deeper into the style.

Students who play castagnettes or who would like to learn are invited to bring their own.
Use of a fan has been forseen as well.

Schedule (12 hours)
Saturday 12am - 2pm and 3pm – 7pm
Sunday 10am - 1pm and 2pm – 5 pm

Ana Yepes insegna Danza Barocca Spagnola attenendosi ai trattati di Esquivel Navarro, Discursos sobre el Arte del Danzado, Sevilla 1642 e di Juan Antonio Jaque, El libro de danzar, XVII secolo.
La sua ricerca sulla tecnica e l’interpretazione, come il suo lavoro di riscaldamento,
sono elementi essenziali della sua pedagogia.

Il corso, rivolto a studenti di ogni livello, è un’introduzione alla danza barocca spagnola attraverso l’apprendimento dei passi base e di alcune variazioni di
Pavana e Gallarda (di Spagna), di Jácara e di “zapateados” sul Canario.
Per quanti hanno già esperienza di danza barocca spagnola,
il corso rappresenta la continuazione e l’approfondimento degli stage precedenti.

Gli allievi che suonano le nacchere o che desiderano cominciare a suonarle
sono invitati a portarle con sé. È previsto anche l’uso del ventaglio.
