Čas za barok - Enter Baroque

Music and dance have always been inspiring and connecting people.

You are kindly invited to Music school Ormož, once part of the Ormož castle complex, to experience Renaissance, Baroque and Classical music in all its glory with the guidance of our outstanding lecturers.

Our lecturers are Artistic Director Lisete da Silva, Baroque flute and recorder specialist (currently working on a doctorate) and PhD Ricardo Barros, Baroque dancer and harpsichordist.
We offer Baroque Flute, Recorder, Harpsichord, Basso Continuo classes, Baroque Dance, Chamber music and Recorder Consort.

NOTE Ricardo will also be offering INDIVIDUAL daily Baroque dance lessons (1hr long). 8 lessons = 250Euro

Information and application

Summer school will be held from July 6th till July 14th 2013, concluding with participants' and lecturers' concert.
Summer school will be held depending on the number of the participants.
Number of active participants is limited to;
9 persons for flute and recorder,
6 persons for harpsichord and
12 persons for Baroque dance (basic and intermediate).
Number of passive participants is unlimited.

Summer school prices:
- FLUTE 250 €
- RECORDER 250 €
- BAROQUE CHAMBER MUSIC (paid by ensemble) 300 €
- HARPSICHORD 250 €
- BAROQUE DANCE - basic and intermediate (per person) 80 €
- BASSO CONTINUO - (class - per person) 80 € - passive participation (per person) 10 €

*Basso Continuo classes are aimed at pianists, harpsichordists and organists who want to learn how to accompany with a figured bass line.
* Individual instrumental lessons (Flute, recorder and harpsichord) are 45 minutes long.
* Baroque chamber music and harpsichord continuo classes are 45 minutes long.
* Baroque dance classes are 2hrs long. There will be two distinct classes: beginners and intermediate.

Every individual lesson and class run DAILY (for instance, for the fee of €250 a flute student would have 8 daily lessons of 45 minutes each, in a total of 6hrs of individual lessons!)

You are advised to bring jazz slippers for Baroque dance, but you can also dance wearing socks or barefoot.

If you want to participate in chamber music course, but don't have an ensemble, do get in touch with us. Depending on the number of participants, we can put you in touch with other such participants and you can form your own chamber ensemble for the course.We invite mixed ensembles to join chamber music classes including singers and instrumentalists (Woodwinds, Strings, Lute and Theorbo).
Singers might have the opportunity to work on Baroque gestures for appropriate pieces.
