The Baroque Dance Weekend Workshop will be August 2nd, 3rd and 4th also at the Balance Arts Center. At the Workshop this year, we will explore how the French style of dance was interpreted in foreign countries.
As a basis for technique I will be teaching from Tilden Russell’s translation of Gottfried Taubert’s Rechtschaffener Tanzmeister (1717). All participants will learn the courante and menuet as described by Taubert. For Level 2 participants, I’ll teach phrases from notated dances that were published in Portugal, Germany, Italy and England. Please register for the workshop in advance by sending a check to:

Ø All classes are open to dancers of any level or style of dancing.
Ø Each class begins with a Balance Arts Floor Class that provides a gentle warm-up through awareness, alignment, and co-ordination using principles of the Alexander Technique.
Ø Classes continue with Baroque dance technique.\
