The Edinburgh Baroque Weekend is a dance workshop suitable for a wide audience including musicians playing baroque music, dancers who would like to learn more about historical dance as well as people who are generally interested in baroque art and dancing.
12 hours workshop is divided between two days. Each day consists of two sessions: morning (from 10 till 13) and afternoon (from 13 till 17).
Morning sessions include technical training and familiarisation with different baroque dance and music forms such as chaconne/passacaille, bourrée, minuet, gavotte.
Afternoon sessions will be devoted to working on the choreography for the "Gigue à deux", a couple dance by Feuillet from "Recueil de danses", 1700 accompanied by the beautiful music by Lully from his opera Roland.
The location of the workshop is right in the centre of Edinburgh not far from the most famous Edinburgh points of interest: Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, Princess Street and many others so you can enjoy sightseeing in your free time.
