Spanish Baroque Dance Workshop By Ana Yepes In Rome

Jácara and Paradetas

Schedule (13 hours)
Saturday 2pm–7pm Sunday 10am–2pm Monday 9,30am-1,30pm
Cost € 150,00

Ana Yepes teaches Spanish baroque dance according to the following sources: Esquivel de Navarro, “Discursos sobre el Arte de Danzado”, Sevilla 1642 and Juan Antonio Jaque “El Libro de danzar”, XVIIth century. Her work on technique and interpretation, as well as the warm-up she proposes are also essential elements of her teaching.

These workshops, adressed to the students of different levels, are an introduction to the Spanish baroque dance style, in which we will learn the steps and some variations of Jácara and Paradetas. For those who already have some experience, the workshops are the continuation of the practice and opportunity to get deeper into the style. Students who play castagnettes or who would like to learn are invited to bring their own. Use of a fan has been forseen as well.
