Baroque Dance workshops for all levels from the absolute beginner to the advanced student.
You may attend individual classes in Technique as well as workshops on the following aspects of Baroque Dance:
Baroque Dance Rhythms: looking at different characteristics of duple (gavotte, bourée etc.), triple (sarabande, passacaille, menuet etc.) and compound duple dances (forlanne, gigue etc.)
Character Dance: examples of steps and sequences will be selected from a variety of 18th century notated dances
Motion & Mechanics of the Arms: the workshops will also look at use of arms as a means of expression
Steps in Context: a mix of Technique, Reconstruction and Presentation Skills: you don't need to be able to read notation but those interested will have the oppotunity to reconstruct some dance sequences.
