Nonsuch Summer Course "Crossing the Border"

The course will be based on historical dances which have journeyed to, from and through Scotland. Dances from the medieval time of Robert the Bruce, the Renaissance of Mary Queen of Scots, the Enlightenment of Robert Burns and the dances of the 19th century that may have been danced in the Town Hall of Sanquhar, when it was first built in 1882.
  • Come have fun and learn the dances linked to Scottish history from the medieval period to the 19th century;
  • Explore the dramatic stories of Robert the Bruce, Mary Stuart and Robert Burns, and dances from their histories;
  • Classes suitable for beginners to experienced, with social dance evenings for all;
  • Arrive on Thursday 4th and depart on Monday 8th (Day rates available).
