Strictly Victorian: Historical Dance Society Summer School 2024

The 2024 Historical Dance Society Summer School will be held at Bromsgrove School, Bromsgrove, West Midlands, B61 7HP and you can choose from a weekend course, Friday (evening) 12th July to Monday (breakfast) 15th July 2024, or a long course, Friday 12th July to Friday 19th July 2024.

The focus this year is on the country dances, quadrilles, polkas, mazurkas and other dances of the mid to late 19th century. Our tutors are Birte Hoffmann-Cabenda, Sam Gosk and Libby Curzon. The aim of our Summer School is to provide people with the time to study a range of dances, to improve dance ability and confidence in dance, and to have fun in good company. Beginners are always welcome.

We offer a choice of three options with experienced teachers at two general levels of difficulty/challenge. The full course provides an in-depth dance experience while the weekend course is perfect for those with less time available or those just wanting to try out the dances of this period. You do not need to come with a dance partner. As well as classes with your chosen tutor there are also social activities and talks in the evenings and a chance to wear costumes if you wish.

All the details you need are on our website. You can either book online or download the booking form and email or post it to us.
