Danças com História is a historical dance association based in Sintra, near Lisbon, dedicated to the preservation, study, and promotion of traditional dances from different historical periods. The association focuses mainly on Medieval, Renaissance, and 17th-century Country Dances, combining historical research, period music, costumes, etiquette, and choreography to recreate the atmosphere and social traditions of past centuries as authentically as possible.
The group participates in cultural events, historical recreations, festivals, workshops, and performances, helping audiences experience the artistic and social life of earlier eras through dance. By bringing together history, music, theatre, and movement, the association aims not only to entertain but also to educate and promote awareness of Europe’s historical and cultural heritage.
