Vintage Dance Weeks 2010
Part I - Marienbad (+.creanc. International Dance School July 22-25) & Prague (July 25-30)
July 22 - July 30
Part II - Kiev
July 30 - August 3
Dear friends,
The 2010 Vintage Dance Weeks will be especially wonderful, with three locations in two weeks: Marienbad, Prague and Kiev! We will also feature more evening dances and balls than ever.
This year we will begin in romantic Marienbad, a spa in far western Bohemia, where we will join the last half of a 19th century dance week organized by German dancing master Sylvia Hartung.
We will learn 19th century dances from Vienna, Paris, Dresden, Prague and Boston. This week will finish with the Grand Ball in Marienbad's resplendent Marble Hall.
From Marienbad we will travel through Pilsen (of course stopping at the famous brewery) to beautiful Prague for a week of vintage dancing, eating, dancing, touring, dancing, drinking and dancing, including a Steampunk Ball and Jazz Ball. The teachers will include Richard Powers with Angela Amarillas, Sylvia Hartung, Jitka Bonusová and Jan Pumpr.
Then the following week will be truly special, when we travel to Kiev, one of the oldest and most important cities in Eastern Europe. We will combine exploring the ancient city with dancing, including a Black & White ball and 19th century ball with Kiev's own vintage dance group.
You will find details and photos of our two-week program on the following pages. We are looking forward to seeing you this summer!
Yours,
Jitka Bonušová a Jan Pumpr
