On 16-21 August 2011, Chalemie will hold its 13th Summer School in Early Music, Dance, Period Costume Making and Commedia. Leading performers from the group will direct a series of workshops on 17th/18th century music, song, dance, commedia and costume making, with a particular emphasis on the English repertoire of this period.
The course this year will be held once more in the delightful surroundings of Headington School, in beautiful old buildings just a mile from the centre of Oxford and situated in 22 acres of parklands, gardens and woodland.

Historical Dance Theatre "A l'entrada" for the second time invites you to see a dance interlude in Ukrainian Baroque style "Fatalia Blazenska" ("Tricky Fate").
Come and experience an atmosphere of a XVII century tale! Beautiful music, dances, costumes and lyrics will help you to feel yourself a few hundreds years back.
We are waiting for you on 11 December at 6 PM at "Ivan Honchar Museum" (29 Mazepa Str., Kyiv, Ukraine).
Historical Dance Theatre "A l'entrada" is a non-profit artistic organization engaged in research and perfomance of old European dance, vocal music and theatre from the Middle Ages to the mid twentieth century. The main goal of the theatre is to immerse spectators into the wonderful world of historical ball, bringing a fairy tale to the modern life. Beautiful costumes, live music, singing, acting, juggling and, off course, dancing are the main components of "A l'entrada's" perfomances. La Vida en Público!

This five-day course will cover the technique and presentation of Baroque dance and is designed for all levels from the absolute beginner to the advanced student. No previous dance experience is necessary, although any knowledge of other dance forms will enable you to pick up the steps more easily.

On 13 November I attended a Baroque opera performance at Belfort in France. It was a presentation of the citie's music schools with soloist singers, choir and dancers.
They were presenting two operas: Delalande's «Les Fontaines de Versailles» (1683) and Jean-Baptiste Lully's «L’Idylle sur la Paix» (1685).
I have prepared a shortened version. Here is the first part of the video. A second part will follow shortly.

Dear Dancers,
for my CD series “Fleur de Lys – pour Maîtres de danse” I offer a special service.
During a huge project of more than 30 dances there might happen some small mistakes. So as soon as you will find any during a rehearsal or in your lessons please pick up contact and I will prepare a corrected version for download.
Of course I will also help, if the mistake is in your reconstruction.
In the moment I prepare a more simple and cheaper version of my dance descriptions.
With best regards
Peter
