This Study Forum will emphasise the role of practical research in early dance. The twin themes will be technique and performance, ranging from the 15th to the 19th century and extending beyond dance to music and drama. We hope to address such questions as:

Comme à l'accoutumée, nous ferons un échauffement dans la détente basé sur la respiration et le relâchement des tensions corporelles.
Ensuite nous travaillerons sur la Pavane des saisons et nous terminerons l'atelier dans l'exubérance festive d'une Gavotte du Roy, version contredanse !

We will work on excerpts from Anthony L’Abbé’s 1719 two-part ballroom dance The Princess Ann’s Chacone. The first workshop will explore the graceful opening chaconne. The second will engage with the intricate concluding English hornpipe.

This set of workshops is for those new to Historical Dance. Join us for a day exploring social dance from the 1400s to the 1800s.
We will be running four workshops and attendance is free. Drop in for one or two sessions, or stay for the whole day.

von dieser Oper sind uns insgesamt 8 Choreographien erhalten, von denen wir uns zwei genauer ansehen werden.

The Baroque Masquerade will take place in Poznan (Posen), Poland, at the Kolegiacki Hotel on 31st December, 2012 at 7 o’clock. Poznan is a large historical Polish city, 280km East of Berlin. Renaissance, Baroque, 19th and 20th century standard dances will be performed. Historical costumes are obligatory. The price, 95€ per person, includes exquisite menu and rich programme of the evening.
