Baroque

IL Teatro amoroso is a young, professional chamber-music/ dance-theater ensemble with a basic formation of five singers, instrumentalists and dancers. Founded in 1996 by Thilo Hirsch, the ensemble's goal is the performance of Renaissance and Baroque music in its original sense of a "theatrical entertainment."

Choreographer and dance researcher Alan Jones goes beyond "la belle danse " and reveals unknown aspects of the performing arts of the 17th and 18th centuries. Fascinated by the secret, the strange, the mysterious and the marvelous, he finds inspiration in overlooked, obscure, often undocumented sources.
