Società di Danza Bolognese

Società di Danza Bolognese is a cultural society founded in 2008 and is associated to the National Federation "Società di Danza" directed by Fabio Mòllica founded in Bologna in 1991.

Società di Danza focuses on research, diffusion and practice of social dance, historical dance and specifically of Nineteenth century tradition. More information at www.societadidanza.it

The society aims at reconstructing a dance system belonging to the European tradition.

The dances include quadrilles, country dances, waltzes, polkas and mazurkas. We aim at reasearching the artistic technique that in the Nineteenth Century made these dances especially important for the dancing masters and not only mass enjoyment.

Società di Danza activities include  Scottish country dance, and since 1991 it is an affiliated group of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society.

Società di Danza Bolognese promotes several activities including countinuous 19th century dance and Scottish country dance  courses, seminars, Grand Ball reconstruction, events also in collaboration with several association, cultural institution and local administration, and more, in the Bologna area.
