19th century grand ball.

The New Year Grand Ball program includes 19th century social dances:
quadrilles, figured waltz, mazurka, country dances, and marches on the music by
Johann, Josef, Eduard Strauss and by Italian composers such as Giuseppe Verdi.
Dancers coming from all over Italy, from various groups of the Società di Danza will meet
and dance together to celebrate the new year in the magnificent hall called 'Salone del Podestà' in
the historical 'Palazzo Re Enzo' in the center of Bologna.
Dancers wear ball dress of the romantic period.

The cultural association "Società di Danza", founded in Bologna in 1991 by Fabio Mòllica, is a Federation of Circoli and groups, is now located in about thirty Italian cities and 12 European cities.
Several Circoli and groups of the Società di Danza will participate in the Grand Ball Risorgimentale, from:Turin, Milan, Bergamo, Stezzano (Bg), Lecco, Trento, Mantova, Padova, Ferrara, Modena,
Bologna, Imola, Forlì, Cesena, Ancona, Lucca, Pisa, Livorno, Rome, Pescara, Naples, Bari, Lecce,
and from European cities.
