10 years of Cracovia Danza

The Cracovia Danza Court Ballet is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2016. Plenty of featured events will be held especially for the people of Krakow to mark the occasion throughout the whole year, among them theatre premieres, open-air spectacles, urban space happenings, as well as a symposium with the participation of foreign ballet stars. The main jubilee celebrations are scheduled to take place in October, when Cracovia Danza will showcase the premiere of Caught While Dancing at the ICE Kraków Congress Centre, with music composed for this occasion by Zygmunt Konieczny and Jacek Stankiewicz. As part of the celebrations, the ensemble will also produce Sleeping Beauty in the style of a Baroque fable, especially for its younger audiences.

Cracovia Danza’s 2016 calendar already abounds in numerous performances in Poland and abroad. The ballet will appear, amongst others, at such prestigious venues as the Stanislawowski Theatre in Lazienki Park in Warsaw, Poland, jointly with Musicae Antiquae Collegium Varsoviense Early Instruments Ensemble of the Warsaw Chamber Opera, and at the National Forum of Music in Wroclaw, Poland, where it will perform along with The Violin Consort. Also upcoming are tours of India, Greece, Germany and France. Despite having no stage of its own, performing in its home city of Krakow has always been and will continue to be the company’s priority. In its anniversary year, Cracovia Danza will stage extra performances in its home city to celebrate its 10 years with the people of Krakow.
