Die „Gigue a deux“ ist ein flotter, aber noch vergleichsweise einfacher Bühnentanz von 1700. Durch Wiederholungen in den Schrittsequenzen und das einfache Schrittmaterial ist sie für Tanzerfahrene (z.B. mit Ballettkenntnissen) auch ohne Barocktanzerfahrung gut machbar. Anders als bei barocken Paartänzen sonst üblich, gibt es hier keine Wechsel der Symmetrie und keinen großen Partnerbezug, der Tanz ist wie ein Solotanz auf ein Publikum ausgerichtet und lässt sich auch gut als Solotanz verwenden.
