A week-long dance and cultural programme, incorporating new material researched in Regency, 19th century, Ragtime, Jazz Age and Swing Era dances. Featuring Richard Powers, from Stanford University's Dance Division, and other workshop leaders from Fly Right Dance Company. 

Our programme is still being finalised, but here are some key highlights for you:

Sunday 3 August

Schloss Paretz lädt am 17.5. 2014 zum 3. Mal zum Historischen Ball auf den Spuren der Königin Luise von Preußen. Der Ball soll auch in diesem Jahr überwiegend die Tanzkultur des frühen 19. Jahrhunderts widerspiegeln. Die Tanzmeisterin Erica Feist wird beim Ball im Saalgebäude des Schlosses Paretz und die Gäste schwungvoll durch die Lebenszeit der Königin Luise geleiten. Es werden Tänze aus England und Preussen wie z.B. Anglaisen, Longway`s, Quadrillien und „three couples“ zum Mittanzen angeboten, für Nachfragen zum Tanzrepertoiare steht Ihnen Erica Feist selbstverständlich zur Verfügung.

Au programme : Nous travaillerons de nouveaux "traits de contredanse" que
nous mettrons en pratique dans différentes figures du Quadrille Français.
Nous commencerons le "Pas Quatre", d'après le Dance Book T.B. 1826. Danse
pour 4 danseurs dans une formation autre que par couple comme on le
retrouve habituellement.

Ein Tanzseminar der Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Tanz Hessen e.V.

Mit diesem Workshop wird die Kursreihe “100 Jahre BAD Homburg v.d. Höhe” mit Gesellschaftstänzen des späten 19. Jahrhunderts bis zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts fortgesetzt. Die verschiedenen Balltänze aus der Kaiserzeit beinhalten eine speziell aus der Kurstadt und für Bad Homburg v.d. Höhe komponierte Musik sowie Noten der Tanzschule Wilhelm Drangsal, Bad Homburg v.d. Höhe. Diesmal stehen Musiken des Komponisten Jacques Offenbach im Mittelpunkt.

In der Beseda wurden böhmische Volkstänze in eine viertourige Quadrille für den Prager Salon zusammengefasst. Die Rekonstruktion basiert auf dem Original in französischer Sprache von 1863 sowie auf der deutschen Beschreibung von 1894, beide verfasst von Karel Link.

Als Ergänzung werden verschiedene Kontratänze aus dem 19. Jahrhundert unterrichtet.

Bi weekly court dance lessons, on saturdays or sundays (or both) given by Erwin Mulder at sporthal hogeveld in The Hague.

The traditional Easter School of the Società di Danza this year will be in Tabiano (Pr), in the Parmesan hills.

In a beautiful environment, we will have the opportunity to spend a few days of communuty life, and to study more in depth theoretical and practical aspects of 19 century dance.
