19th century

The Court Dance Festival is an artistic event organized by the Balet Dworski Cracovia Danza. Its main goal is to present the dance heritage of Kraków, Poland, Europe, and even the entire world. The culture of court dances, present in every country, serves as a source of inspiration for creating performances and artistic spectacles rooted in traditions and practices preserved to this day.

Richard Powers, bekannter Tanzlehrer und -historiker an der Stanford Universität, gibt sich die Ehre, für einen Tanz-Workshop nach Kassel zu kommen. Unter seiner Anleitung werden wir uns dem Cross Step Waltz, als auch seinen historischen Wurzeln widmen.

We will study 19th century dance: waltz, quadrille, polka, mazurka and Scottish Country Dance.

Dancing hall open air, with parquet.
Classes in the afternoon 5.00 pm - 8.00 pm.
Breakfast and dinner in Villa.
Free time to enjoy holiday at the beautiful sea, cultural visits to archeological sites and old towns, naturalistic walks.

Ball of Nynpheaum

19th Century Grand Ball

Società di Danza organizes a 19th Century Grand  Ball in the beautiful Villa Viviani  

Waltzes, quadrills, polka and mazurkas, contredanse and marches, Scottish country dances.

The ball will take place in the charming ancient salon of Villa Gerini di Colonnata.

The historical villa has also a beautiful italian park with small lakes and ancient trees.

Es ist wieder so weit! Das nächste Tanzvergnügen in Wien wartet auf uns!

Der Hoftanzmeister Johann Raab lässt uns in seiner Mazur-Quadrille (1842) zur Musik des Hofballmusikdirektors Philipp Fahrbach viel Spielraum in der Schrittauswahl. Konversationstänze, Walzer, Polka, die Polka-Mazurka L’Alliance und Teile des Körs komplettieren das Repertoire der Tanzunterhaltungen in den ehemaligen kaiserlichen Jagdgebieten in Kostümen der Zeit.             

Der sechste historische Tanzball am Biedermeierstrand findet wieder im Rahmen des Biedermeierstrandfestes statt. In diesem Jahr soll er den Komponisten Johann Strauß Vater (1804-1849) und Sohn (1825–1899) gewidmet sein, die durch das 19. Jahrhundert hinweg durch ihre Tanzmusik beide den Titel „Walzerkönig“ erhielten. Der Sohn – welcher in diesem Jahr 200 Jahre alt geworden wäre – ist zudem für seine Operetten, wie z.B. „Die Fledermaus“ oder „Eine Nacht in Venedig“ bekannt.

Zu diesem Termin lädt unser Verein wieder zu einem Tanztag ein, an dem wir ein aktuelles Thema der For­schung mit viel Spaß am Tanzen kombinie­ren.

Ein Vortrag informiert uns über das Thema, ein Work­shop illustriert das Gehörte und im anschlie­ßenden ge­selligen Teil sorgen schwungvolle Countrydances und Contre­tänze für einen fröhlichen Ausklang des Tages.

Unsere Mitglieder können diesen Event gleich mit unse­rer Jahresversammlung kombinieren.
