Crystal Dragon

Good afternoon! 

We are the historical dance studio "Crystal Dragon". 
We are engaged in historical social dances from the middle XIX and early XX centuries. 

We work mainly on the Italian program Società di danza, based on dances of the middle XIX century. The word "based" is very important. We do not reconstruct dances from the past, we adapt them to the present. We believe that dance has to grow and develop and be actual for any person and any time, otherwise it withdraws into itself and dies. 
That is why dancing on our balls is interesting for person at any dancing level, age or status.
As we have already mentioned, we teach a variety of dances from the middle XIX and early XX century, here are some of them: waltz, polka, mazurka, quadrille, the charleston, the two-step, matchish, foxtrot, cross-step waltz, tango and others. 
Moreover, of course, we give balls and parties. 
We do, perhaps, the most interesting and unusual balls in St. Petersburg. Very often our balls are held in very unusual and quite unexpected theme: Space Ball, Circus, Ball of Gods, Mad Tea Party, the ball in the Wild West, and so on. If you look at the photos, you can see some beautiful shots from there.
And, of course, music! Did you know that the dances of the 19th century are great to dance to the variety of musical styles? Starting from rock ballads and ending with Indian melodies! From time to time we do balls in traditional historical way, close to balls that really took place in XIXth century. Often we have visitors from other countries.
