Course Content

The course will cover the technique and presentation of Baroque dance and is designed for all levels from the absolute beginner to the advanced student. No previous dance experience is necessary, although any knowledge of other dance forms will enable you to pick up the steps more easily.

Présentation
L'Association Rotruenge propose un long Week-End d'initiation ou perfectionnement aux danses du Moyen-Age, d'après l'antique transmission orale du savoir et du savoir-faire. Ces quatre journées se dérouleront sous forme d'ateliers dirigés par Christophe Deslignes et seront ponctuées de petites conférences sur les témoignages historiques: iconographie, traités, musiques et chroniques. Une démonstration des danses apprises aura lieu le Samedi à partir de 20h.

Tänze der Inns of Court
und ihre Verwandten auf dem Kontinent

Die Londoner Inns of Court tradierten Pavan, Almaine, Brawle, Galliard oder Coranto. Solche Tänze werden gelehrt und verwandten Tänzen auf dem Kontinent gegenüber- gestellt. Dem deutschen Paartanz und Reigen um 1600 nähern wir uns anhand von literarischen und ikonographischen Quellen.

A workshop with classes in Baroque Dance and late 18th century dance; a performance (for students) of dances to music by Telemann (with live orchestra).

Programme

Nous vous proposons deux cours de danse Renaissance italienne répartis dans la journée et correspondant à des niveaux de difficulté différents. Les stagiaires ont la possibilité de suivre un ou deux cours journaliers.

Danse Renaissance italienne

Niveau débutant/intermédiaire :

Apprentissage des pas de base et travail du style selon les traités des XVème et XVIème siècles.

Niveau intermédiaire :
Cours technique et travail du style.

A total immersion in historical dance
from the 15th through 20th centuries.



Classes will cover both social and theatrical dance forms, and will draw an intersection of professional,
academic and social dancers.  In addition, the week offers a comprehensive track of the essential
dances from each era — including etiquette and deportment — for educators who wish to
teach a comprehensive course in historic dance, or those wanting a thorough introduction to a new era of historic dance.
