Ana Yepes teaches Spanish baroque dance according to the following sources:

Courante und Sarabande ‒ beide Tanzformen des 17. Jhs werden im Hochbarock als getragen, gravitätisch, majestätisch charakterisiert und sind doch gänzlich verschieden. Die Courante glänzte als Gesellschaftstanz im Zeitalter des Sonnenkönigs, spielte die Hauptrolle im Hofball. Die Sarabande strahlte als Bühnentanz in zeitgenössischen Opern, hatte aber im 17. Jh. auch ihren Platz im Ballsaal. Eine spannende Annäherung an die beiden Danses de société wird Thema des nächsten Bad Rappenauer Kurses zur Tanzpraxis im 17. Jahrhundert sein.

Bi weekly court dance lessons, on saturdays or sundays (or both) given by Erwin Mulder at sporthal hogeveld in The Hague.

The traditional Easter School of the Società di Danza this year will be in Tabiano (Pr), in the Parmesan hills.

In a beautiful environment, we will have the opportunity to spend a few days of communuty life, and to study more in depth theoretical and practical aspects of 19 century dance.

Program: social dance of 19th century tradition.

Be inspired by the splendid medieval city of Perugia and the Umbrian landscape. Experience an unforgettable summer course, organized by the experts of Accademia Amsterdam in collaboration with the Università per Stranieri di Perugia. Meet friends while enjoying music, arts, Italian ‘cucina’ and literature.

We offer additional master-classes music and dance for those who want to improve their skills.

We have an honour to invite you for our next costume party! This time the theme are going to be the ballroom dancing from the XIX century. The costumes from the Jane Austen's epoque are very welcome, but there is no matter if you come in clothes from others historical periods ( or modern evening dress). We provide a small treat during the ball.

The ball will be preceded by dancing workshop, from Friday to Sunday. The workshop and tha ball are going to be hold by Lieven Baert.

Michel Saint Léon (1777 - 1853), father of the famous dancer and choreograph Arthur Saint Léon was himself a dancer of the Académie Royale de Musique in Paris. From 1822 to 1842 he worked as the dancing master of the princesses at the royal Court of Württemberg. To this princesses he dedicated four notebooks (1829 to 1836). In this notebooks he described exercises for the dance training, choreographies for the theatre, and social dances.

Dies ist der Auftakt einer kleinen Reihe von Workshops für die Gesellschaft für Hessische Militär- und Zivilgeschichte e. V., mit der Reenactors aus ganz Hessen einmal im Quartal Gelegenheit  gegeben werden soll, Gesellschaftstänze und Tanztechniken des 18ten Jahrhunderts zu erlernen. Da diesmal der verfügbare Raum beschränkt ist, bleibt dieser Workshop zunächst einmal leider nur intern. Da ich es aber für wichtig halte, dass auf early-dance.de ein möglichst breites Abbild der Historischen Tanzszene zu finden ist, habe ich ihn zum Kalender hinzugefügt.

Rappel : Atelier de danse baroque, vendredi 24 janvier 2014 de 19h à 22h.
Nous axerons cet atelier sur un travail détaillé des fondamentaux de la danse baroque : les familles de pas et leur variété. Nous testerons différents rapports dans l'espace, nous danserons du lent au rapide, du glissé au sauté.
Pour clore l'atelier, nous apprendrons la contredanse "The Great Turck" en préambule de la nouvelle création de la compagnie Fantaisies Baroques "Turquerie à la Française".
