This workshop includes training in baroque dance technique, study of the ‘port de bras’ and working on 18th-century repertoire, particularly the ‘Chaconne de Galatée’ and a new choreography on music of Henry Purcell by Ingolf Collmar.

The workshop is based at the studio of the 'Stichting Klassieke Dans' (Classical Dance Foundation) in Sint-Niklaas, but some lessons will take place at the 18th-century Château d’Ursel in Hingene. On the final evening, there will be a private ball at the castle.

Quadrille - „Le Prince Impérial“ Paris, 1859
Tänze der Großen Ballsaison des 19. Jahrhunderts aus Frankreich

Für den kaiserlichen Prinz von Frankreich, Prince Imperial Napoleon Eugene, einziger Sohn von Kaiserin Eugénie de Montijo und Kaiser Napoléon III choreographierte und komponierte die Société Académique des Professeurs de danse von Paris eine schöne neuartige Quadrille, die Quadrille Prince Impérial.

In diesem Workshop wollen wir die Gavotte de Seaux, eine Choreographie von Claude Balon, erarbeiten.
Der Tanzworkshop ist gedacht für alle, die Spaß an historischen Tänzen und eine gewisse Tanzerfahrung – nicht notwendigerweise im Barocktanz - haben.

Depuis la découverte du répertoire des chorégraphies authentiques du 18ème siècle, les critères musicaux, chorégraphiques ou techniques ont dicté le choix de déchiffrer et remonter telle ou telle danse.
