On 17-22 August 2010, Chalemie will hold its 12th Summer School in Early Music, Dance, Period Costume Making and Commedia. Leading performers from the group will direct a series of workshops on 17th/18th century music, song, dance, commedia and costume making, with a particular emphasis on the English repertoire of this period.

The course this year will be held once more in the delightful surroundings of Headington School, in beautiful old buildings just a mile from the centre of Oxford and situated in 22 acres of parklands, gardens and woodland.

Wir wollen uns mit dem französischen und spanischen, barocken Choreographien auseinandersetzen, z.B. einem "Entree espangnole" für eine Dame ( französisch ) und wir arbeiten an einer Pavane aus einer spanischen Quelle (Jaque).

We want to work on French and Spanish Stile of the Barock dancing, "Entree espagnole" for a woman (french), and we are working with a Pavane of an Spanish source (Jaque).

The 12th Oxford Dance Symposium examines various aspects of the life and works of the French-Swiss choreographer and dance writer Jean-Georges Noverre, his contemporaries and successors, his detractors and his champions. In calling for papers, the organisers are seeking a wide range of papers on all these aspects, particularly on his influence as practised in different centres throughout Europe and beyond.

Cesare Negri (* um 1535 - † um 1604) war Tanzmeister am Hof zu Mailand. Sein erstmals 1602 in Mailand erschienenes Traktat "Le Gratie d'Amore" (Neuausgabe: Nuove Inventioni di Balli, Mailand 1604) gehört mit den Werken von Fabritio Caroso zu den bedeutendsten Quellen der höfischen Renaissancetanzkunst in Italien.
