The Société des Redoutes will perform dances from the 18th and 19th century and guide you through the evening with contredanses, waltzes, quadrilles, mazurka’s and other social dances from the same centuries.

Zu unserer neunten Tanzwoche im Februar laden wir alle Tanzfreudigen und Tanzerfahrenen herzlich ein. Diesmal bewegen wir uns im Zentrum der Donaumonarchie: die undatierte Valerie-Mazur-Quadrille für 4 Paare verdanken wir zwei Künstlern der Wiener Opern- und Theaterszene: dem französischen Tänzer und Choreographen Louis Frappart (am k.k. The association Societa' di Danza (www.societadidanza.it) organizes the first
Grand Ball of 2011 for the opening celebrations for the 150th anniversary of Italy.
Dancers from all over Italy (the about thirty groups of the Societa' di Danza)
and from Europe will come and share this special Grand Ball organized in collaboration with the
Municipality of Bologna in the historical heart of the city:
Palazzo Re Enzo, Salone del Podesta'
The New Year Grand Ball dance program includes 19th century various dances of different levels
The traditional Easter School of the Società di Danza this year will be in Sestola (Mo).
In one of the most famous Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, we stay at two historic hotels,
the Grand Hotel San Marco and the New Park Hotel, famous for their hospitality and cuisine of Emilia.
In a beautiful natural environment, we will have the opportunity to spend a few days of community life, and to study more in-depth theoretical and practical aspects of our idea of dance.
We study social dances of 19th Century tradition:
Waltz, Quadrilles, polka, mazurka and Scottish Country Dance.
