The variety and riches of dancing c.1600 will be presented through close study of a balletto by Caroso or Negri, alongside a selection of dances from England and France.

Breaks for tea & coffee (£1 for whole day), and lunch, will be made at appropriate points in the day. You may bring a packed lunch. There are several pubs, sandwich bars and cafes in the area.

Classes begin with a lively warm-up and move on to beautiful dances, from playful branles to the stately pavan and the lively galliard. Barbara teaches steps clearly and chooses dances to suit the abilities of her students.

ALL DAY: 11:00 am - 5:00 pm Barbara teaches the Baroque repertoire and complex country dances with baroque steps. Occasional performances at historic venues are on offer, but no partner or costume is required.

3:00 pm - 5:30 pm
The class begins with a lively warm-up and moves on to steps and patterns designed for the abilities of Barbara's students. English Country Dances with baroque steps are included and opportunities are offered to move on to a more advanced level as you learn.
