Die französischsprachige im süddeutschen Raum wiederentdeckte frühbarocke Tanzquelle „Instruction pour dancer les dances cy apres nommez“ ist das einzige tanzhistorische Dokument für den französischen Gesellschaftstanz kurz nach 1600 und ein wichtiges Bindeglied zwischen der spärlich belegten Tanzkunst der Übergangszeit von der Renaissance zum Barock. Die anonyme Handschrift tradiert Choreographien für französische Modetänze, die damals ganz Europa beherrschten: Bourée, Pavane d'Espagne, Danse du chandelier, Passepieds de Bretagne, Gavotte und jede Menge Branles.

Dear friends of the Spanish baroque dance

From 2. of June to 5th of June 2011 Ana Yepes will give a dance workshop in Berlin.
It is again a programin in which the French and Spanish style are to be compared.

First, the "Sarabande pour une femme" by Pecour, and as a repetition of the "Loure" that Ana has already studied with us. They are "easy" dances to as much as possible to work in style and provide them with the „ Spanish.arms"
Second, the emphasis is on "Pabana" and of course repetition of "Folias" and "Zapateados" in the Spanish part.

Barbara holds classes in Baroque Dance in London, around the UK and abroad, for both beginners/elementary and intermediate/advanced students.

Barbara has many years of experience in baroque dance, both as performer and choreographer, as well as teacher of baroque dance. She has taught in Europe, the Baltic Countries and Australia in addition to courses in the UK. She has also taught early dance on the BA (Hons) degree course in Ballet Education at the Royal Academy of Dance in London. As well as baroque dance, she has given courses in baroque gesture for singers.
