About me:
Elizabeth Svarstad holds a BA in dance from The Norwegian College of Dance, a Nordic master of arts in dance studies from NTNU and a doctorate in dance studies from NTNU. Her Ph.D. project about dance as social education in Norway 1750–1820 was part of the project Performing arts between professionalism and dilettantism. Music, theatre and dance in the Norwegian public sphere 1770–1850, supported by The Norwegian Research Council. Svarstad teaches baroque dance at the Norwegian Academy of Music and Oslo National Academy of the Arts in Oslo. She works as a dancer and choreographer and is artistic leader of the dance company Compagnie Contours.
