Cotillions des späten 18.Jahrhunderts  für 12 Tänzer    

Cotillions für 12 waren von großer Bedeutung beim Tanz Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts in England, Frankreich, Italien und Deutschland. Die Teilnehmer werden Beispiele aus allen diesen Ländern kennen lernen: zB. Bruckfields "Les Belles FillesdeNorwich', Gaudrotder' Les QuatreBerceaux', Magridie" ContraXXXVIII" und einen anonymen " Douze"in Leipzig veröffentlicht.

The baroque nights at Clam-Gallas palace

MUSIC IN THE TIME OF ABUNDANCE

We invite you to the carnival series of Baroque concerts, which are part of the Program of Prague Carnival. Events are held from Friday, January 29th, till Fat Tuesday, February 9th 2016 , at the Clam-Gallas Palace, in the magnificent seat of the Bohemian Statesman and Habsburg Imperial Ambassador, Johann Wenzel von Gallas.

The Georgian Ball is hosted annually by Bath Minuet Company and has become a highlight of the early dance calendar. The Guildhall in Bath continues to provide the perfect setting for this event which draws enthusiasts and practitioners of historic dance from across the UK. A dance workshop is held on the afternoon preceding the ball for the benefit of persons wishing to attend and to assist those with perhaps less dance experience.

The popularity of the historical novels of Sir Walter Scott (a contemporary and favourable reviewer of Jane Austen) gave rise to costumed balls to which guests would come dressed as characters from his novels (his first in 1814 entitled ‘Waverley’) and groups of friends would try and costume to the same theme for the opening quadrille. Soon any historical dress was acceptable and Waverley balls were even being held in Australia and New Zealand.

Enjoy a smorgasbord of food, guest musical and dance performances and lots of participation. Enjoy candle-lit tables and joining-in on all the 18th century dances previewed in the daytime workshops, dances of the kind enjoyed at a Bath Assembly or Paris Opera bal public.

Dienstags lade ich alle ein,
die gerne die Bühnentänze des 18. Jahrhunderts kennenlernen wollen.
Die Wurzeln des klassischen Ballett finden sich im barocken Bühnentanz.
Es sind die Tänze Ludwig XIV., des Sonnenkönigs.
Diese Tänze stellen eine wunderbare Einheit von Bein- und Armbewegungen und Körper dar, eine perfekte Kunstform.
