The 24th Summer School of Società di Danza will be in Villa Massimo, Landro di Gioiosa Marea
Weeks of holiday and dance. Classes in the afternoon, dancing evening and free time to enjoy the sea.
We will study 19th century dance: waltz, quadrille, polka, mazurka and Scottish Country Dance.

The week August, 3-10, 2019 is devoted to dance and style of 19th century for the levels beginners and intermediate.

Beginners and Intermediate

The Bourée d’Achille, choreographed by Pécour, was first published in 1700. It is one of the simplest notated dances for a couple, making it ideal for dancers at beginner and intermediate levels.
For beginners the course offers an introduction to the baroque dance step repertoire. For intermediate dancers, the opportunity to coordinate the baroque port de bras confidently with the steps.

Seven days of baroque dance in an exclusive interaction with the renowned Ringve International Summer Course in Early Music.

The course includes a daily warm-up and dance class based on historical dance techniques, repertoire classes, Feuillet notation, live music, cooperation with the music course, evening country dance classes, daily concerts and student performance in Trondheim.

Located by the sea in idyllic surroundings, just south of Gothenburg, Löftadalen Conservatory will host the fifth International Summer Academy of Baroque Dance, inviting top-notch teachers from France, USA, Germany and Sweden.

More than 100 students from over 20 countries joined during the past five years. Welcome to our 6th year in 2019!

Die „Gigue a deux“ ist ein flotter, aber noch vergleichsweise einfacher Bühnentanz von 1700. Durch Wiederholungen in den Schrittsequenzen und das einfache Schrittmaterial ist sie für Tanzerfahrene (z.B. mit Ballettkenntnissen) auch ohne Barocktanzerfahrung gut machbar. Anders als bei barocken Paartänzen sonst üblich, gibt es hier keine Wechsel der Symmetrie und keinen großen Partnerbezug, der Tanz ist wie ein Solotanz auf ein Publikum ausgerichtet und lässt sich auch gut als Solotanz verwenden.

We ("Academy of Early Culture" Fundacy) kindly invite you to participate in early dance workshops with our favourite dancing master Lieven Baert in Warsaw, Poland – dances of 16th, 18th and 19th century Europe.

Level: intermediate

Wer schon einmal einen Barock- oder Rokokoball besucht hat oder ein Fan von Jane Austen Verfilmungen ist, kennt sie mit Sicherheit schon: Longways – Tänze in einer Gassenaufstellung, auch englische Tänze genannt. An diesem Wochenende widmen wir uns intensiv den Grundlagen und den Schritten dieser beliebten Tänze, sowie ihrer Entwicklungsgeschichte im 17. und 18. Jahrhundert.
