Discover the mad craze in Follia, the sexy courtship of the elegant Minuet, the full passion of the Bouree & the pyrotechnic challenges in the Sarabande. Learn the dances of the Baroque period with musicians, actors and more! Break the barrier of tedium and discover a portal to the 18th century.

Am 22.08.2012 spielt die Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden unter der Leitung des Cembalisten Vital Frey im malerischen Schlosshof in Murten Orchestersuiten von Johann Sebastian Bach. Zwei dieser Werke werden auch tänzerisch umgesetzt von Niels Badenhop, der eine Mischung aus barocker Tanzkunst und barocker Pantomime zeigen wird. Beginn 20:00 Uhr

Please join us this Saturday at the Mark Morris Dance Center from 3 pm until 4:30 pm as Ani Udovicki teaches dance phrases from the Passacaille d'Armide and explores the nature of the passacaille with live music from Paul Friedman on violin.

Christian Ludwig Boxbergs Oper in 3 Akten und Prolog "Sardanapalus" wurde 1698 am Ansbacher Hof uraufgeführt und seitdem nicht mehr gespielt. Das Stück handelt vom letzten Herrscher der Assyrer Sardanapalus, der an seiner Luxusgier und seinen Leidenschaften zugrunde geht und sich am Ende des Stückes mit seinen Frauen und Schätzen auf dem Scheiterhaufen selbst verbrennt.
