Wir tanzen alte Tänze aus der Playford-Sammlung bis hin zu Tänzen moderner Choreographen aus Europa und USA. Englische Tänze sind Paartänze; dennoch ist es nicht erforderlich, mit einem festen Partner zu kommen. Es gehört zum Stil der Tänze, nach jedem Tanz den Partner zu wechseln. Niemand bleibt übrig. Vorkenntnisse sind hilfreich.
Ricarda Hennig tanzt und unterrichtet seit ca. 30 Jahren Englische Kontratänze und reist regelmäßig zu Tanztreffen. Verlagsneue Tonträger und Tanzbeschreibungen sind erhältlich.
Tanzkleidung: bequeme Kleidung, leichte Tanzschuhe, keine spitzen Absätze!

W. A. Mozart komponierte für zahlreiche Hausbälle, Hofbälle und Redouten wunderschöne Tanzmusik, die nur selten in Konzertsälen zu hören ist. Die dazugehörenden Tanzformen des 18. Jahrhunderts sind ebenso schön wie vergnüglich zum Tanzen. In diesem Seminar tanzen wir Kontratänze aus deutschen und französischen Quellen des 18. Jahrhunderts mit abwechslungsreichen, geselligen Figuren, die zum gemeinsamen Tanzen einladen.

Das Tanzen in höfischer Gesellschaft war schon immer multikulturell angelegt. Verschiedene Tänze aus unterschiedlichen Nationen eroberten als Modetänze die Tanzsäle. Dreimal zwischen dem 15. und dem 18. Jahrhundert findet sich auch ein „Deutscher Tanz“:

Après un échauffement-relaxation au sol, nous commencerons cette année d'une façon bien originale : en effet, nous travaillerons des variations autour des chaconnes d'Arlequin (Feuillet, La Montagne, Roussau) et nous chercherons des interprétations selon nos humeurs en puisant dans les personnages de la Commedia del Arte.
Une belle façon de commencer 2013 avec entrain !

Sociable and fun workshops from 9.15am - 4.30pm learning regency dances with live music from Sally Taylor and Charlotte Fletcher. No experience or partner necessary but smooth, low-heeled shoes desirable. Period costume welcome. Cold drinks and biscuits provided.

Step back in time away from tv, radio and mobile phones to an early 19th Century Australian Caves House. Join in daily morning dance workshop, explore caves, rest or join in costume workshops in the afternoon, and attend costume balls in the evening after dinner. All music for the workshops and balls is provided by professional musicians. This costumed event is open to only 40 participants and tickets are on sale already.

Step back in time and join Aylwen and John Gardiner-Garden of the Earthly Delights Historic Dance Academy for a historical costume and dance tour of England this September. We have space for 15 guests to join us on tour around London and South-West England.
