Event for early music and dance with seven workshops. There is a special and changing subject matter each year. 2011 the topic is "Changes in music and dance during the centuries".

Im Rahmen der 11. Etappe für Alte Musik und Historischen Tanz

Tänze mit einer langen Lebensdauer sind mancherlei Veränderungen unterworfen. Auch können sich unter gleicher Tanzbezeichnung je nach Zeit und Ort unterschiedliche Phänomene verbergen. Solchen Wandlungen werden wir in diesem Kurs am Beispiel von Courante und Branle nachgehen.

Dancers from different countries are welcome to the Festival.

Every dance may be as 'solo', couple or group performance.

The Festival will take place in one beautiful XIXth century theatre in the main street of Madrid, Spain.

Dance demonstration by “Société des Redoutes“ with the orchestra “les Pantalons“

The Société des Redoutes will perform dances from the 18th and 19th century and guide you through the evening with contredanses, waltzes, quadrilles, mazurka’s and other social dances from the same centuries.
