wir bedanken uns im Namen des gesamten Teams und auch im Namen unseres Zeremonienmeisters Stephan Künzel sehr herzlich, dass Sie wieder unser Gast waren und der Gräfin Cosel Ihre Ehre erwiesen haben. For all of its influence, the Regency period in Britain only technically lasted nine years, from 1811 to 1820, when King George III was declared unfit and his heir ruled by proxy as Prince Regent.  But the man who became George IV exerted his influence for many more decades after his death in 1830, and his interest in theatre and the arts characterized the period. This is the era of an astonishing proliferation of new theatres, catering to a wider audience than ever before.

The 1995 BBC version of Pride and Prejudice and the Ball at Netherfield where Mr Darcy danced with Miss Elizabeth Bennet, inspired the Jane Austen Dancers of Bath to be founded in 1996 – the first and foremost Regency dance group in Bath and the UK.

 

The Jane Austen Dancers of Bath hold regular classes in this beautiful Georgian City where Jane Austen made her home between 1801 and 1806 and also set Persuasion and Northanger Abbey, two of her published novels.
