Jane Austen Festival Australia was founded by event organiser, costume designer and dancer Aylwen Gardiner-Garden in 2008. Together with Earthly Delights Historic Dance Academy, the festival holds an annual Jane Austen and/or Napoleonic Ball open to international guests, faithfully reproducing a Ball from that period; dancing, music, orchestration, buffet, clothes, manners, games and culture.
