Romana Agnel has dedicated her whole life to dance. She is an art historian, but she is also
professionally engaged in dancing, making choreographies and what is most important, she is the
founder of ‘Cracovia Danza’, the only professional Court Ballet in Poland, which is situated in Kraków.
Her education started in Ballet School in Kraków and during her studies at the Sorbonne in Paris she
acquired her specializations in the areas of character dance and historic dance. Additionally, Romana
is also a dancer of the Bharata Natyam classical Indian dance.
The 'Cracovia Danza' Court Ballet (formely known as “Ardente Sole”) is a Municipal Institution of
Culture in Kraków, which is proud to be the only professional court ballet in Poland. The Ballet,
established by a famous dancer and choreographer - Romana Agnel, specializes in historical court
dances.
The institution has been working since 2006 and it popularizes the high culture and artistic
education. Its aim is to spread dance culture and heritage by an exchange of experiences among
Polish and foreign artists, who cultivate historical dances, and thanks to propagating the knowledge

Professor Duncan-Jones of Somerville College, Oxford, will take her audience through the active career of William Kemp, famous for "dancing to Norwich". His roles in plays by Shakespeare and others will be discussed, as well as the likely extent of his career post 1600. Professor Duncan-Jones has been widely published on Sidney and Shakespeare and is currently working on Elizabthan foold and foolery.
