Ball

Zum diesjährigen Ball haben wir den Zauber der Serenissima eingefangen und präsentieren Musik und Commedia dell’arte, grandios dargeboten von Gian Andrea Scarello und seiner Compagnia. Il maestro della cucina verzaubert Sie mit seinen Kreationen der venezianischen Küche.

La maestra di danza è la bella signora Jutta Voss – sie wird charmant und elegant den historischen Tanz anleiten.

Am Samstag den 30.11.13 wird der alljährliche Winterball in Wiesbaden stattfinden.

Im Mittelpunkt stehen Tänze von John Playford, bzw. in dessen Tradition (z.B. von G. Roodman), aber evtl. auch Tänze aus der Jane Austen Zeit, bzw. Branlen oder Pavanen.

Der Ball wird in festlicher Kleidung stattfinden, mit ambientiger Auststattung und evtl. mit Livemusik (steht noch nicht fest)

1714 verlor Katalonien die Unabhängigkeit. 2014 ist das symbolische Jahr des Strebens nach "Freiheit". In Vorbereitung sind historische Festaktivitäten, die Tanz- und/oder Musikeinlagen beinhalten sollen.

Die Planungsphase der Tanzkurse und des Bal folk-Abends unter dem Titel
Catalan 8 hat bereits begonnen. (20. April 2013)

BALLROOM, STAGE & VILLAGE GREEN: CONTEXTS FOR EARLY DANCE

First Announcement and Call for Papers

 Papers, workshops and short performances are invited on topics connected with this theme.

Speakers on the social context of early dance might wish to consider:

Chestnut’s Fourth Costume Ball is primarily meant for dancers who have been working on the programme for the past months but it also addresses beginners and onlookers, for whom we have also planned simpler dances.

For advanced dancers, Chestnut is organizing  a 4-day workshop to prepare for the Costume Ball, May 8 to 11.

Please note: registrations for May 1 at the latest!

Der Termin für das diesjährige Stadt-Land-Fest steht fest:

5. Oktober 2013

A friendly, intimate ball, 7pm to 11pm, in a Victorian theatre with a sprung floor.  MC: Ellis Rogers. Musicians: Green Ginger.  Please wear costume 1850-1900. Tickets £40, to include a light supper.  A bar will be available for the sale of wine, soft drinks.  Free parking outside the house.  Ten minutes walk (or short bus ride) from Teddington Station.  Doors open at 6pm, changing room available.

Special event with overseas guest Dr John Gardiner-Garden—director of the Earthly Delights Historic Dance Academy, author of 15 dance books, producer of 8 dance music CDs and a wonderfully engaging dance leader.

Sunday 8 September, 2.30pm - 5.30pm: Jane Austen Dance Party—enjoying late Georgian and Regency-era dances
