Baroque

If you have ever wanted to be a part of the many forms of social and theatrical dance that existed in the world during the Baroque period, this is the course for you. The term Baroque Dance is often used in reference to the French noble dance style and technique of the late 17th and early 18th-centuries.

Nous continuerons nos explorations autour de la "Chacoon for Harlequin by Mr Roussau" et nous vous reservons une contredanse sympathique pour finir le cours !
Pensez à prendre un chapeau, un masque ou un éventail pour vous aider à interpréter Arlequin !

Atelier tous niveaux ! N'hésitez pas à venir essayer... le jeu, le travail du masque et des accessoires est passionnant.

This year the course will explore the early 15th century—dance forms which were in existence already in the late 1300s in music, images (for ex. Giotto, Lorenzetti) and literature (Boccaccio).  The choreographies will be based on a study of these sources and the contemporary dance-types: rounds, open chains and serpentines, couples dancing in processionals and solo saltarello dances.  Recent texts by musicologists and other specialists will be discussed. 

The first balli by Domenico of Piacenza and Guglielmo Ebreo will also be learned.

Venez en couple ou seul(e) goûter à l’esthétique et à la pratique de la danse avec la musique baroque des XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles.

Danse à l’intention du Duc de BOUFLERS (1706-1747), qui danse aux côtés du Roi dans ce ballet donné au château des Tuileries.

Après un échauffement-relaxation, nous enfilerons notre costume d'Arlequin et hop ! nous travaillerons la "Chacoon for Harlequin composed by Mr Roussau". 
N'hésitez pas à venir avec votre masque ou un chapeau pour chercher des postures, vous aider à trouver de nouvelles pistes d'interprétation.
