ALL DAY: 11:00 am - 5:00 pm Barbara teaches the Baroque repertoire and complex country dances with baroque steps. Occasional performances at historic venues are on offer, but no partner or costume is required.

We are delighted to host the internationally-renowned choreographer, performer and teacher of Baroque dance, Philippa Waite for a Baroque Dance Workshop.

Ms. Waite studied with Wendy Hilton and taught for her at the annual
Baroque Music and Dance Workshops at Stanford University. Ms. Waite is
currently guest teacher of Period Movement and Dance at the Royal Welsh
College of Music & Drama, Cardiff, and the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
She is Artistic Director of Consort de Danse Baroque and as such
choreographs in the Baroque style for the company's productions; she also

Von J. B. Lully stammt die Musik zu Moliéres Ballettkomödie Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme. Ein schönes Damensolo daraus, die Sarabande pour femme (1.er air des Espagnols), wollen wir an diesem Wochenende mit Margit Legler erarbeiten.
Der Kurs ist vor allem für bereits etwas fortgeschrittene Teilnehmer(innen) gedacht.

Die Sätze in der Barockmusik tragen zumeist die Namen von Tänzen, die in ihrer Zeit so selbstverständlich zum gesellschaftlichen Leben gehörten wie heutzutage Walzer, Foxtrott oder Tango. Eine im Jahr 1700 in Paris veröffentlichte Tanznotation gibt heute recht genau Einblick, wie man damals ein Menuett, eine Sarabande oder eine Gavotte getanzt hat. Die Bewegungsmodelle, die diesen Tänzen zugrunde liegen, stehen in ursächlicher Verbindung mit den Rhythmusmodellen der zugehörigen Musik.

Welcome to a one day workshop with Karin Modigh in Stockholm! The course aims at students with a fair experience of Feuillet notated dances, and will include technique training and a repertory dance:
