International Summer Academy of Baroque Dance

Located by the sea in idyllic surroundings, just south of Gothenburg, Löftadalen Conservatory will host the first International Summer Academy of Baroque Dance 2014, inviting top-notch teachers from France and Sweden.

Voici un joli bouquet de ces danses conviviales du 17e s.;

eine Auswahl besonders schöner Tänze des 17. Jh.:

Red House, Shepherd's Holiday, Jamaica (de John Playford)

et pour changer un peu / zur Abwechslung: Courante et l'Allemande du Chandelier.

Il ne faut pas savoir les danses prévues, tout sera montré de zéro, mais il serait favorable de saisir les figures avec facilité.

Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts verlagerte sich der Geschmack
weg von reinem Pomp und Zeremoniell hin
zur Beschaulichkeit und Natürlichkeit.
Im Volk und den Parlamenten brodelt es..
der Adel ergeht sich in Dekadenz und Lustbarkeiten.
Tanz ist nun ein gesellschaftliches Vergnügen
und weniger ein zeremonieller Akt.

und Repertoire der um 1750 üblichen
Danses de Bal mit Euch einstudieren.

Michel Saint Léon (1777 - 1853), father of the famous dancer and choreograph Arthur Saint Léon was himself a dancer of the Académie Royale de Musique in Paris. From 1822 to 1842 he worked as the dancing master of the princesses at the royal Court of Württemberg. To this princesses he dedicated four notebooks (1829 to 1836). In this notebooks he described exercises for the dance training, choreographies for the theatre, and social dances.
