Join us for a journey through time and space to discover the origins of modern dancing. We will visit ballrooms of the fashion capitals of their time and experience elegance and style of previous epochs. Dance and travel with us!

Your guides during the day are Gaita, Les Danses Antiques and The Fly Right Dance Company

10:00-11:30  British Renaissance for breakfast

Dance from the time of Richard III - 15th century English dances from the Gresley Manuscript (with live music)

11:45-13:15   French Baroque for lunch

1714 verlor Katalonien die Unabhängigkeit. 2014 ist das symbolische Jahr des Strebens nach "Freiheit". In Vorbereitung sind historische Festaktivitäten, die Tanz- und/oder Musikeinlagen beinhalten sollen.

Die Planungsphase der Tanzkurse und des Bal folk-Abends unter dem Titel
Catalan 8 hat bereits begonnen. (20. April 2013)

Rappel : vendredi 19 avril, atelier de danse baroque de 19h à 22h à Micadanses 15, rue Geoffroy l'Asnier 75004 Paris studio So Schnell.
Nous réviserons le Canarye de Madame la Dauphine, puis nous apprendrons la Gavotte du Roy. 
Cette danse à quatre a la particularité d'être composée exclusivement de pas de gavotte, et d'être un jeu de figures entre symétries, parallèles, dos à dos, croisements multiples...

BALLROOM, STAGE & VILLAGE GREEN: CONTEXTS FOR EARLY DANCE

 Papers, workshops and short performances are invited on topics connected with this theme.

Au programme, nous continuerons l'apprentissage du quadrille des Lanciers,
de Mr Duval et nous danserons la Nouvelle Panurge par Mr Bresson.

N'oubliez pas le stage de danse baroque des 6 et 7 avril !

A friendly, intimate ball, 7pm to 11pm, in a Victorian theatre with a sprung floor.  MC: Ellis Rogers. Musicians: Green Ginger.  Please wear costume 1850-1900. Tickets £40, to include a light supper.  A bar will be available for the sale of wine, soft drinks.  Free parking outside the house.  Ten minutes walk (or short bus ride) from Teddington Station.  Doors open at 6pm, changing room available.
