Come and experience an atmosphere of a XVII century tale! Beautiful music, dances, costumes and lyrics will help you to feel yourself a few hundreds years back.

Historical Dance Theatre "A l'entrada" is a non-profit artistic organization engaged in research and perfomance of old European dance, vocal music and theatre from the Middle Ages to the mid twentieth century. The main goal of the theatre is to immerse spectators into the wonderful world of historical ball, bringing a fairy tale to the modern life. Beautiful costumes, live music, singing, acting, juggling and, off course, dancing are the main components of "A l'entrada's" perfomances. La Vida en Público!

Au programme : the game of the Hunt of Love--la Caccia d’Amore, and the virtuosic dances from Santucci’s Mastro da ballo : « Pavaniglia », « Galleria d’amore », « Allegrezza d’amore », variations de la Gagliarda.

Barbara is a dance historian specialized in 15th-17th century Italian dance. She is interested in going beyond the of "court dance« "the first ballet » and in placing early dance inits socio-economic and political contexts.

In her teaching of Italian dance she will put the accent on style, music and interpretation.

MARKO MOTNIK is a Slovene musician and musicologist working in Vienna. He graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, majoring in organ and harpsichord. There, he also obtained his MA in Instrumental Music Education and, in 2010, also his PhD degree with his thesis on Jacob Handl – Gallus. He works as an associate at the Saxonian Academy of Sciences in Leipzig (Bach-Archive) and the Austrian Academy of Sciences where he is doing research on 18th-century dance culture.
