Lieven Baert--level 1: introduction to Italian, French and English 16th-17th century dances. Technique and balletti by Fabritio Caroso e Cesare Negri; gagliarda variations of Santucci; English country dances (Playford) and Measures of the Inns of Court

Barbara Sparti--level 2: The balletto "della duchessa", Martel d'amore, choreographed by Leone Tolosa, recently rediscovered, and performed in 1582 by the Duchess of Ferrara and other seven ladies of the court, dressed as four shepherds and four nymphs.

Leider schon ausgebucht

Von Caroso und Negri wurden prächtige Tanzbücher herausgegeben voll mit Schritten und Choreographien. Santucci hatte das wahrscheinlich ein paar Jahre später auch geplant. Sein Manuskript ist wie durch ein Wunder erhalten geblieben. Trotz der Tatsache, dass wenige Choreographien aufgeschrieben wurden, gibt es einen Schatz von Schritten und Variationen. Diese erweitern unsere Kenntnisse über den italienischen Tanz des beginnenden 17. Jahrhunderts.

Das diesjährige Motto “Die Nacht“ lädt zu vielfältigen Assoziationen ein: Elfen, Sommernachtstraum, heimliche Liebe, Geister-stunde, Kerzenschein, ... Wir werden das Thema in der Musik, in einigen Tänzen und natürlich beim Theater aufgreifen. Lassen wir uns überraschen!
