Chieko's work is based on the philological research aimed at reconstructing the Italian dance of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries through original documents. She studied historical dance with Peggy Dixon, Andrea Francalanci and Barbara Sparti.
She recently held various conferences related to the comparative study of the ancient dance in the East and the West. She is the co-translator of the book "The Japanese dance" by Tamotsu Watanabe (Ed. Ali & No, 2001) and the co-producer of the CD Gloria et Malum - dance music of the Italian Quattrocento (Micrologus-Belreguardo, 2008).
