Court Dance Society Potsdamer Rokoko cordially invites you to a baroque Midsummer Night’s Ball. Enjoy with us the shortest night of the year with dance, a menu with baroque dishes, all kinds of entertainment and an impressive view over the beautiful landscape of the river Havel up to Potsdam.

The evening programme is planned as follows:
- Entry/sparkling wine reception from 5 p.m. on
- Entrée
- Polonaise and other communal dances
- Performances by guests and hosts
- 3-course menu
- Dance to live music
- Official end: midnight
- After that: dance until morning

The Georgian Ball is hosted annually by Bath Minuet Company and has become a highlight of the early dance calendar.

The Guildhall in Bath continues to provide the perfect setting for this event which draws enthusiasts and practitioners of historic dance from across the UK.

A dance workshop is held on the afternoon preceding the ball for the benefit of persons wishing to attend and to assist those with perhaps less dance experience.

Ein Fest für alle zum Mittanzen!
Was darf es sein? Schlichte Freude am freien Tanz, direkte Begegnung in der langen Gasse oder die Hohe Kunst des Bühnentanzes?

Typisch für den Gesellschaftstanz der 2. Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts:
Choreographien für den Tanz im Ballsaal, für 4 Paare oder mehr, von
- Georg Link (Vollkommene Tanzschule, Wien 1796) und
- De La Cuisse (Le Repertoire des Bals, 1762)

Wie bei allen unseren Kursen brauchen Sie keinen Partner mitzubringen!

Der Workshop richtet sich wieder, wie schon die Vorangegangenen der letzten Jahre, an all jene Historiendarsteller des 18. Jahrhunderts, welche auf den vielen Festen im Jahr Lust verspüren, gemeinsam mit Anderen zu tanzen. Auf dem Programm stehen dieses Mal das Menuett „The Tatler“ ( Essex 1710 ) sowie der Contredanse „Excuses My“ ( Feuillet 1706 ).

Vorher werden jedoch wieder die Grundlagen für Gassentänze aller Art, worin enthalten die wichtigsten Figuren sowie die Theorie und Praxis des Aufrückens aufgefrischt. Als Beispiel dafür werden einige englische Tänze dienen.
